The areas around Hotel Villa Borghi, as far as the neighboring city of Novara, are famous for the production of wine. A truly ancient history, which dates back even before the Romans, that is before wine was cheerfully called "nectar of Gods" by the Roman God Bacchus.

As of today, in our area, we have four wines classified as DOC ( Denomination of Controlled Origin):
• Fara
• Ghemme
• Boca
• Sizzano

Ghemme Doc has also obtained the DOCG recognition (Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin). The main grape is surely Nebbiolo, which is the main component of all the mentioned wines and it is a preponderant part of the offer of the territory. Being an autochthonous black berried grape, over the centuries it has developed a powerful structure but balanced by an "elegant" body, acidity, alcohol and aromas in the nose and in the mouth as well as a great aging potential. Wine of this type are the extraordinary Baroli or Barbareschi wines produced in the nearby Piedmont.

At Hotel Villa Borghi we hand down the passion for enology since three generations and the experience, together with the care for new proposals, led to the creation of the wine list of our restaurant O'Lac, which represents an excellent balance between the best national labels and more refined and particular wines.
