Walk from Verbania to Pallanza

A beautiful walk between historic villas and panoramic lake views just 45 minutes from Hotel Villa Borghi. The walk from Verbania to Pallanza, pedestrian and cycling, extends along a one-way paved road, for about 2 km between breathtaking views of the lake, old abandoned villas and dream palaces. The walk lasts about half an hour and starts in front of Villa Taranto in Verbania and leads you to the heart of Pallanza.

Along the way on the Colle della Castagnola stands Villa S. Remigio. It was built in the early 1900s at the behest of two artists: the poet and musician Marchese Silvio della Valle di Casanova and the painter Sofia Browne. Here they created their "dream garden", a real hymn to their love, composed of several gardens. Continuing you will find the Villa Rusconi-Clerici, formerly called Villa Biffi, a late nineteenth century building in eclectic and neo-baroque style with some beautiful gardens overlooking the lake.
At the entrance of Pallanza you will find the Villa Giulia and its park. The villa built in the mid-1800s by the family that invented Fernet Branca, a renowed bitter, is now owned by the municipality and hosts temporary exhibitions and receptions. The park is always open to the public and free and from here you can enjoy a privileged view of the lake and Pallanza!
